Mentor/Clinical supervision For Certified Nurse Psychotherapist/Certified Psychotherapist Nurse
To apply to become a mentor, one must be a Clinical member, or already working in private practice as a certified nurse psychotherapist CNP/CPN or RP for a minimum of 5 years.
Pay the membership fee of $250 and the one time mentorship or supervision fee application Fee: $250.00
Qualified nurse psychotherapist mentor/ clinical supervisor must be a nurse, and have completed a recognized nurse psychotherapist training, or formal comprehensive psychotherapy training in at least one of the 5 recognized psychotherapy modalities, with a minimum of 1000 hours of psychotherapy experience or, 2,000 hours of paid psychotherapy services with submission of individual training history; 100 hours individual supervision with at least one independent supervisor; successful completion of an oral interview as determined by the Mentor committee, successful completion of an approved clinical supervision training in psychotherapy; from a colleague familiar with the applicant’s psychotherapeutic work, and one from a recent supervisor.
Mentors must maintain Continuous Professional Development - CPD (CE/CCI, i.e. Continuing Education/ Continuing Collegial Interaction.
25 hours per year or 75 hours over 3 years, prorated for newer members or psychotherapy/psychiatry - related continuing education (CE), and 25 hours per year or 75 hours over 3 years, prorated for newer members of Continuing Collegial Interaction (CCI) individual or group professional-support activities (any combination of supervision and other focused peer interaction.
